SWAP 'TIL YOU DROP

In preparation for our upcoming A Day in Paris, Swap ‘til You Drop event, we’ve put together a fabulous inspiration board.

Filled with ideas for our swap party, we’ve decided to use different shades of pink (our absolute favorite color), and a black damask print to add a little elegance to the décor. We also love the idea of pairing black and white polka dots for a little extra fun.

But what’s a Swap ‘til you Drop event you ask? Well, there’s the idea.

As ladies, most of us have a few items sitting in our closet (purses, jewelry, shoes, wallets, blouses, scarves, etc.) we no longer use. And well, just because you no longer use or want them, doesn’t mean someone else won’t want them either. You know the old saying -- one woman's trash is another woman's treasure. So instead of throwing out those perfectly good items, why not swap them for other fabulous items? We know there's nothing better than shopping in your friend's closet; with a glass of champagne and delicious hors d'oeuvres in hand of course.

Those who have donated their items will attend the event, meet some fabulous women, have cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and then swap, not shop (cause it’s free) for items others have donated. Cool huh?! We think so too!

Take a look at what we’ve got in store! We can’t wait until the big event.

CREATIVE IDEAS: SOMETHING BLUE

Every bride knows the saying:

something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

And while the mother or grandmother of the bride is likely to supply most of the items needed to fulfill the requirements of this age-old wedding tradition, many brides have a hard time finding that "something blue".

Well...that’s where we come in. Because we at LMP know a boring blue garter will cut it no more, we’ve found a fun and stylish way for bride’s to incorporate that special blue something on their big day.

Whether you’re a bride who wants to make a big, bold statement or one who prefers something that’s soft and subtle -- take a look at how these beautiful blue embellishments can add a little extra flair to an old tradition.

You’ll love these modern veils and gorgeous hair accessories -- the perfect "something blue" addition to any wedding day.

CUSTOM WEDDING CAKE TOPPERS

One of the most unique and creative ways to personalize your wedding day is with a custom wedding cake topper. And depending on the design of your cake, almost anything goes. But one of our absolute favorite ideas for custom cake toppers -- one that adds a little extra personality, are those designed by Sarah Neuburger of The Small Object.

The Small Object's line of collectible wooden keepsakes, rubber stamps and handmade gifts are full of unique characters and drawings and are rather kawaii (that means "cute" in Japanese), despite their Southern roots. With these wooden creations, Sarah found a unique (and very adorable) way of providing couples with a great keepsake for their wedding day. According to Sarah, the pieces can be created in any number of ways. She can customize pets, bouquets, wedding gowns and tuxedos and much more -- for Sarah, the more unique the better!

Be sure to visit her Etsy shop. You’ll love all the detail she puts into these incredible figurines! For more samples of Sarah’s work, check out her Flickr album. She's created over 300 custom cake toppers! They’re all so amazing -- we had a tough time deciding which toppers we wanted to feature!

Blog Feature: HECK FRIDAYS

While scouring the web for fun, and creative DIY party favors, we came across Heck Fridays, a great blog devoted to all things DIY! Created by two sisters who love to craft, create, make and bake, Joi and Erin both contribute to the blog despite being hundreds of miles away.

“Since I (Joi) live in California and Erin lives in Utah, we decided it would be so much fun to create this blog together for stay-at-home moms, working moms, single gals and married gals alike. We don't just do mommy based crafts, although there are quite a few. We try to create things that we know a wide range of people will like”.

Most of the items featured on Heck Fridays are things the sisters want or use in their own home. There are tons of crafty projects and a recipe post each week. The ladies even have a monthly giveaway. Make sure you visit their blog to see what they’re all about. We're sure even those of you that are DIY-challenged will find something even you can replicate.

Check out these adorable (and LMP's favorite) DIY projects – all created by the ladies at Heck Fridays. They’re perfect for the party planner who loves to create custom party decorations and party favors.

CREATIVE IDEAS: PET-FRIENDLY WEDDINGS

You love your dog...so much so that you’ve decided to include him or her in your upcoming wedding. And why not? Your furry friend has been with you through thick and thin -- it's only natural you’d want to include him in all the wedding festivities.

Though it's no new trend, pet parents are increasingly beginning to include their dogs in their weddings. Dressing them up in little tux’s, cute bow ties and puffy gowns, they’re in the receiving line, carrying the rings, listed on the program and even in the wedding pictures.

So, in an effort to provide you with a few ideas on how to incorporate man’s best friend into your wedding ceremony, we scoured the web for tips...and collected some of the cutest dog-friendly weddings photos we could find. Even if you’re not a dog lover, you’ve got to admit, these precious pet pooches make your heart melt.

Check out PeoplePETS for tips on how to include your four-legged friend on your special day.
