SWAP 'TIL YOU DROP

You know the old saying...one woman's trash is another woman's treasure? Well, this weekend, after a few weeks of planning, I put that old saying to the test when I hosted a Paris themed swap party at my place.

Because I knew my friends (and myself included) had tons of items sitting in their closets (purses, jewelry, shoes, clothes, wallets, beauty products, etc.) they no longer use or wore, I asked if they would graciously donate them to me for a swap party. I mean think about it, just because you no longer use or want those items, it doesn’t mean someone else won’t want them either. And besides, what could be better than shopping in your friend's closet?

So, instead of throwing out those perfectly good items, I gathered them up for the Day in Paris, Swap ‘til You Drop event. And what a success! We ate, drank and swapped the entire night...we were even able to get in a few rounds of Taboo! It truly turned out to be an amazing event.

I would like to thank all of the ladies who participated and helped make the swap party a success. It’s because of you I was able to pull it off.

SWAP 'TIL YOU DROP

In preparation for our upcoming A Day in Paris, Swap ‘til You Drop event, we’ve put together a fabulous inspiration board.

Filled with ideas for our swap party, we’ve decided to use different shades of pink (our absolute favorite color), and a black damask print to add a little elegance to the décor. We also love the idea of pairing black and white polka dots for a little extra fun.

But what’s a Swap ‘til you Drop event you ask? Well, there’s the idea.

As ladies, most of us have a few items sitting in our closet (purses, jewelry, shoes, wallets, blouses, scarves, etc.) we no longer use. And well, just because you no longer use or want them, doesn’t mean someone else won’t want them either. You know the old saying -- one woman's trash is another woman's treasure. So instead of throwing out those perfectly good items, why not swap them for other fabulous items? We know there's nothing better than shopping in your friend's closet; with a glass of champagne and delicious hors d'oeuvres in hand of course.

Those who have donated their items will attend the event, meet some fabulous women, have cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and then swap, not shop (cause it’s free) for items others have donated. Cool huh?! We think so too!

MJ'S WINTER ONE-DERLAND!

Last month we planned a One-derland celebration for a little girl named MJ who was celebrating her first birthday. Well, we're long overdue -- but here we are, finally sharing the photos from her adorable celebration.

Taking advantage of her December 28th birth date, we used winter as the theme; decorating with snowflakes, pink and silver ornaments and a gorgeous white "snowball" fabric table cloth.

The tiny guests even got a chance to make their own snow!

EMONI'S ROCK STAR BIRTHDAY PARTY

This past Saturday, our ROCK STAR ideas came to life when we celebrated the 7th birthday of an adorable little girl named Emoni. Joined by her family and closest friends, Emoni partied the day away in her hot pink tutu and knee high converse boots. It was the perfect day for a birthday party!

The girls had a fantastic time, they bounced and slide on an giant inflatable slide, sang and danced to rock/pop music, snacked on ice cream and cupcakes, and filled their goodies bags with tons of party themed candy and gifts -- even the Pop Rocks were a big hit! A special thank you to the birthday girl's mom for tracking them down for us!

We had an absolute blast planning this event -- the Rock Star theme allowed us to go a little over the top with our decorations and we loved how everything came together!
